- A ratchet
- Torx Bit T15
- Torx Bit T20
Step-by-Step Installation Process
Step 1: Disconnect the Tail Light Harness
Locate the tail light connectors by the spare tire by first getting underneath your truck. The connectors for the tail light harness can be disconnected by removing the red locking tab and then pressing down on the release tab.
Step 2: Release the Harness Holders
After that, relax the harness holders that secure the driver-side harness. After removing the locking tab, remove the holding mechanism to release it. One or two of these should be the sole ones holding the harness. Apply the same procedure to the harness on the passenger side.
Step 3: Remove the OEM Tail Lights
Take off the OEM tail lights' two T15 Torx screws. Please take note that these screws will not be utilized again. Using some force, slide the tail light backward away from the truck. Remove the truck's harness and tail light. Do the same with the other tail light.
Step 4: Prepare the Morimoto Tail Lights
Remove the two mounted T20 Torx bolts from your brand-new Morimoto tail lights. If your truck has the Type 1 connector, remove the Type 2 adaptors from your Morimoto tail lights.
Step 5: Install the Morimoto Tail Lights
As with the OEM harness, route the harness down and under the vehicle using one of the Morimoto tail lights. Connect your OEM connector to the Morimoto harness connectors. Repeat these steps on the other tail light.
Step 6: Test the Lights
To make sure all tail light features are operational, turn on the truck and switch between all modes.
Step 7: Secure the Tail Lights
After snapping the tail light into position on the truck, use the included bolts to secure it. Continue on the opposite side. To tidy up the wiring underneath the truck, insert the Morimoto wiring harness into the original harness clips.

Optional: Installing the Boost Bar
You can install the optional Boost Bar by doing the following if you've already bought one:
- After taking off your license plate, fasten the Boost Bar. Where the wire must pass through, mark it on the bumper.
- After drilling a 1/4" hole in your bumper and inserting the wiring, put your license plate back on with the Boost Bar.
- Secure the wiring using zip ties after running it along the top under the bumper.
- Plug the wiring into your Passenger Morimoto tail light after running it up through the tail light hole. Use zip ties to secure the remaining wiring.
